HAZARD COMMUNICATION (HazCom) - Final Rule

MSHA's New Hazard Communication Standard

Members should be aware of MSHA's new Hazard Communication Standard, HazCom, that expresses two safety and health principles:

1. Miners have a right to know about the chemical hazards where they work; and

2. You have a responsibility to know about the chemical hazards at your mine.

MSHA now has a Final Rule single source page at their web site with information and resources regarding HazCom including the HazCom Tool Kit and the Hazardous Communication interactive training program which was recently added.
