Committee Structure
The ISEE is a
volunteer driven organization and, as such, its committees are vital,
functioning and productive working groups that have accomplished much
over the years. All members are encouraged to work on committees.
Standing Committees are formed as required by the ISEE Constitution.
Other Adhoc Committees are also created to pursue specific goals
established by the ISEE Board of Directors. Certain committees, such
as the Awards Committee, meet to make recommendations to the Board of
Directors, while others like the Conference Program Committee, are busy
conducting Society business.
Awards Committee Chairman: Jerry Wallace
Responsible for recognition of contributions made by members to the
industry, their peers, and to the society.
Blasters Training Committee
Chairman: John Capers
Promote training for the benefit of members and others who apply scientific principles and techniques as they pertain to the use, handling, manufacture, transportation and storage of explosives.
Certificate Program Committee
Chairman: Roger Sprague
Develops and coordinates the ISEE Certificate Program—Levels I-III, to
upgrade the skill and competetence level of everyone involved in the
explosives industry..
Chapter Development Committee
Chairman: Dave Saunders
Encourages and fosters positive chapter relations. The President of each
Chapter serves as a member.
Conference Advisory Committee
Chairman: Roger Sprague
Serves as liason to attendees and exhibitors and reviews future
conference locations and activities.
Conference Program Committee
Chairman: Jack Eloranta
Vice-Chairman: Phyllis Hasser
Vice-Chairman: Jerry Wallace
Conducts peer reviews of papers and organizes the technical program for ISEE's Annual Conference. Committee Members Sharepoint Services Website.
Constitution Committee
Chairman: Larry Gilmore
Reviews suggested changes to the constitution and makes recommendations
to the Board of Directors.
Education Committee
Chairman: Chuck Dowding
Coordinates the program for the Blasters Training Seminars and encourages
the teaching of explosives engineering in colleges and throughout the
industry.
Explosives Security Committee
Chairman: Dale Ramsey
Vice Chairman: Mike Koehler
Develop methods to improve security, reduce unauthorized possession, ensure prompt reporting of thefts, and assist users in being able to work, travel and conduct business in light of enhanced security.
Ethics Committee
Chairman: Jim Daley
Promotes ethics standards adopted by the Society and makes
recommendations for appropriate changes.
Governmental Affairs Committee
Chairman: Roger Prescott
Vice Chairman: Jeff Dean
Vice Chairman: Georg Plaschke
Monitors legislation and regulation at the federal level and makes policy recommendations to the Board.
International Committee
Co-Chairman: Georg Plaschke
Co-Chairman: Alastair Torrance
Promotes regular communications and joint activities with international
organizations with shared objectives.
Membership Committee
Chairman: Jim Redyke
Promotes membership retention and recruiting and reviews benefit programs
for members of the Society.
Nominating Committee
Chairman: Dale Ramsey
Responsible for inviting and proposing a slate of candidates for election
or appointment to the Board of Directors.
Planning Committee
Chairman: Jerry Wallace
Vice Chairman: Dale Ramsey
Considers long range goals and determines the effectiveness with which those goals are being met.
Public Education & Public Relations Committee
Chairman: Phyllis Hasser
Vice Chairman: Dave Harrison
Develops recommendations to present to the board on ways to educate the
public about the explosives industry.
Publications Committee
Chairman: Ron Elliott
Responsible for securing and reviewing technical articles for the Journal
of Explosives Engineering.
Technical, Safety and Environmental Committee
Co-Chairman: Roger Sprague
Co-Chairman: Mike Koehler
Develops standards and recommends methods, forms, procedures, terminology
and data for the industry.
