Dr. Edward J. Walter, Sr.  (1915- 2008)

Dr. Edward J. Walter, age 93 passed away quietly on Easter Sunday.  Beloved husband of Thelma Pearson; father of Constance Hassett (James Richardson), Barbara Black (John O'Connell), Edward Walter, Mary Holz, Francis Walter (Robin), Kevin Walter (Leslie), James Walter (Dolores), Thomas Walter (Sheila), John Walter (Gail-Marie), and three stepchildren, Jonnie Marks (Robert Wallis), Marie Dezort (Dennis), and Betty Fisher (Michael); grandfather of 26 and great grandfather of 12; preceded in death by his wife Constance (nee Elms)......
 
Gloria A. Eppich  (1957- 2008)

We are very saddened to announce that Gloria Eppich, ISEE's Assistant Publications Manager, died Thursday, March 20th from complications following surgery.  Gloria had been on sick leave following surgery several weeks ago. A loyal and dedicated employee and friend to many members and staff, Gloria was in her fourth year working with the Society.  She will be missed.......
 
George L. Griffith, Jr.  (1919- 2008)

George L. Griffith Jr., a truly valued member of the "Greatest Generation" was born on May 31, 1919, of G. Leslie Griffith and Blanche Walling. "Griff" is survived by his daughter Susan Parker Vizzard, his son G. Robert Griffith, his grandchildren Elizabeth A. Cahill, and Matthew G. Grant, and his great grandchildren Robert and Sydney Cahill, and Elyse Grant.  Mr. Griffith was a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers since 1984 and had been a reviewer for the ISEE Blasters' Handbook 17th Edition..........
   
Evan M. Shelby (1922- 2008)

Evan M. Shelby, 85, of Marion, KY passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008.  Mr. Shelby, simply known as "Shelby" was born December 22, 1922, in Evansville, IN, son of the late Albert and Opal Davidson Shelby, whose family was rich in ancestry of the Kentucky 'Blue Bloods'. He retired at the age of 83 after 28 years of employment with the Kentucky Department of Mines & Minerals as Chief Inspector........
   

Dr. Wei Shing Chang (1934 - 2008)

Dr. Wei Shing Chang passed away February 9, 2008.  Dr. Chang was a pillar in the hazardous materials industry. His unique expertise in the testing, analysis and transportation of hazardous materials was recognized both nationwide and internationally.  Working in conjunction with the U.S. DOT, Dr. Chang's recommendations on shipping classifications enabled the safe transport and storage of hazardous materials throughout the industry......
