Author Guidelines for
Invited Articles & Case Studies
Only invited
articles will be considered for publication in
the Journal. Generally, technical articles
should be submitted to the ISEE Conference
Program Committee in response to the Annual
Call for Papers. Nearly 100 papers per year
are accepted for presentation at the Annual
Conference and published in the Conference
Proceedings. A number of articles are then drawn
from the Proceedings for publication in the
Journal.
Abstracts for Articles featuring case studies on
special projects from around the world, however,
are invited to be submitted directly to the
Journal at any time subject to the author
guidelines for invited articles.
For invited articles to be considered for such
review, the Abstract must cover a subject that
is consistent with the theme of a specific issue
of the magazine as determined by the Editor. The
article must be by-lined, be an original work
not published previously and not commercial in
nature.
Guidelines for Invited Technical Articles
Abstracts for Articles should be about 350
words. Articles must not be commercials for
companies, products or services.
Submitting Your Article
An
Article Submission Form must be submitted
with or at the time of your article submission.
The review process will not proceed until an
article submission form is completed. Authors
should review the Author Checklist below
before submitting an article. Using the format
guidelines below, articles should be submitted
in both electronic and hard copy format to:
Editor, Journal of Explosives Engineering, ISEE,
30325 Bainbridge Road, Cleveland, OH 44139,
Email:
journal@isee.org.
The Review Process
After you have submitted your article along with
an
Article Submission Form, your article will
be reviewed by at least two members of the
Publications Committee. This review process
generally takes 60 to 90 days. If accepted, you
will be required to sign a
Copyright Release Form (pdf). Authors will
also be given one opportunity to review a proof
of their article in magazine layout form.
Evaluation and Acceptance
Articles are evaluated based on originality of
topic, readability, soundness of content,
timeliness, and interest to our readers.
Articles that essentially promote a particular
company, product or service are not considered
publishable. All accepted articles are subject
to editing for style, clarity, language and
length.
