Governance
The chief governing body responsible for
carrying out the objectives of the Society is
the ISEE Board of Directors which includes nine
at-large directors, three appointed directors,
and the President, Past-President, Vice
President of Administration, Technical Vice
President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Board
functions through a committee structure which
compliments the activities of Sections and
Chapters. Some ISEE Committees have specific
oversight responsibilities for programs while
some operate somewhat independently.
The process of moving into Society governance,
generally starts at the Chapter or Section
level. Such activities build peer
recognition that can lead to increasingly
responsible positions. Chapter and Section
leaders are often considered for eventual
nomination to the ISEE Board of Directors.
Investment in volunteer efforts in any
organization can provide an alternate management
or professional training track not available
through full-time employment. In addition,
involvement in ISEE provides professional and
peer relationships that broaden technical and
interpersonal skills and contacts. If you are a
member and wish to participate on a Committee or
with a Section or Chapter, contact the Committee
Chairman, Section leader or Chapter President
directly.
Each Spring, the ISEE Nominating Committee seeks
nominations of candidates for the ISEE Board of
Directors Fall election. Deadline for
Nominations is June 1st. ISEE
Members can submit their recommendations online
or download a printable form to return by fax or
mail.
